Pennsylvania Railroad Middle Division

Neal Schorr

Neal's 1,400 square foot O scale layout accurately portrays the Middle Division of the Pennsylvania Railroad as it existed in the 1950's and 1960's. Trains of up to 40 cars are routinely operated on the layout which features a four track mainline including sweeping curves of up to 13 feet in radius, and wide, comfortable aisles of up to four feet in width.

The trains are operated using command control and the locomotives are all sound system equipped. Highlights of the layout include a meticulously painted backdrop, an operating signal system featuring PRR position signals, scratch-built models of prototype stone arch bridges modeled in full scale size, and a unique stair pit to allow a true around the wall layout without the need for duck-unders.
