Bring and Brag Contest Guidelines

Scoring:

  • THREE POINTS : Entry receiving the most popular votes
  • TWO POINTS : Entry receiving the second most popular votes
  • ONE POINT : Entry receiving the third most popular votes

The Rules:

  • Only one entry is permitted for each Bring-n-Brag contest.
  • Only entries matching the monthly category may compete for points. Models not matching will be for display only.
  • Each entry must be the creative efforts of the modeler entering it. These may include but are not limited to models, photographs, dioramas, needlework, etc. (this generally excludes out-of-the box models, other people's work and collectibles). Excluded items are welcome for display, however.
  • All entries will remain ANONYMOUS to the membership (only B-n-B chairman will know the identity of the entering member).
  • An entry may be entered only once unless there has been a significant amount of additional work done on it.
  • Each entry will be accompanied by a brief written description of the model including the personal efforts that have gone into its production. The description is very important so members can take the type of construction into consideration since there are no longer points awarded for scratch-building or kit-bashing, The Bring-n-Brag chairman will assign a written number to be written on the paper or note card with the written description.

Purpose:

  • The Division 2 Bring and Brag contest is to encourage model railroaders of all skill levels to share their creative efforts at monthly meetings and to allow members to show their appreciation of these efforts.

Duration:

  • The B-n-B contest will be based on the calendar year with recognition occurring at the annual jamboree the following year. Recognition will include a first place, a second place and 2 runner-ups.

Categories:

  • Monthly categories will be established by an ad hoc committee appointed by the B-n-B chairman and published in the January issue of the Keystone Flyer and will be available on the website as soon as possible.

Voting:

  • Each attendee at the meeting may vote once for his or her favorite entry using the number assigned. Voting will take place between 2:00 PM and 2:30 PM. At 2:25 PM, the presiding officer will remind the membership that only 5 minutes remain in which to vote. The last agenda item before adjournment (and before any program) will be announcement of the winners. After the end of the meeting but before the program, the winners will spend a few minutes discussing their entries and answering questions.
